The 9 of the Peruvian team, striker Paolo Guerrero is the top scorer Santander 2011 Copa América. With five goals scored, the player stood in front of players like Sergio Aguero, Argentina, and Luis Suarez, Uruguay, who scored three and four goals, respectively.
Guerrero began his career in the opening match against Uruguay, when he scored the first goal of the match, leaving at speed and dribbling the goalkeeper Muslera. In the second match, against Mexico, Guerrero scored an opportunistic goal in the match. Well positioned, only had the job of pushing the ball into the goal.
In matches against Chile, Colombia (quarter-final) and Uruguay (semifinal), Guerrero went blank. However, in the race for third place against Venezuela, the player once disenchanted, scoring three goals (hat trick) and helping Peru to win the match by 4-1.
In the first goal of the match against Venezuela, the top scorer of Copa America, Guerrero got face to face with the Venezuelan goalkeeper and shot at the entrance of the small area. The second was in the stoppage time, when the striker took full advantage of the counter-attack and ended the game with two hits in the output of the goalkeeper.
Guerrero finished the Copa America as top scorer with five goals, and as the main responsible for Peru to take third place in the competition.
